A Scrappy Quilt Backing

A few weeks ago, I had started randomly pulling scraps from my stash and improv piecing them together.  I didn't really like where it was going but it was large enough that I decided to add a few more strips and save it to use to back a future quilt.  About a week later I finished a quilt top that matched the size of the backing and decided it would make a good pairing.  (I'll share the quilt top soon - it is part of tutorial.)  Ironically, after quilting, I like tthis improv stripe-y thing so much better - now I'm thinking maybe I WILL make a quilt top like this!

  18. I've been quilting two years this month and to be honest I had a hard time getting used to the pieced backings. However, now that I see not only the beauty of using leftovers but all of the opportunities, I am a huge fan. Great job!
