charley harper baby quilt tutorial

I feel so lucky that I was able to work with another one of Birch Fabric's wonderful fabric lines.  This one is Charley Harper - this line is filled with absolutely adorable prints and several lovely blenders.  I'm sure it would come as no surprise to those of you who regularly read about my projects that I would choose to highlight the novelty prints!  The tutorial for this quilt is on the Birch Fabrics blog (click here) and you can see the whole line by clicking here - I think it is coming out later this month!

  10. So, so sweet. Your design is so open and clean, which shows off the awesome illustrations in the fabrics instead of competing with them. (and that pop of yellow solid framing the bluebird!) Fighting the urge to hoard this fabric for any future babies of mine. ;)

  20. Awesome, Beth! This is a great looking modern baby quilt...I think it would look good in any fabric, but of course it looks so good in these Birch fabrics. Who doesn't love birds? I'm definitely going to have to get the print with the cardinal.

  21. I just looked to find the fabric and the Finch Sewing Studio has it on Etsy. Now I just have to wait until payday to get it;)

  22. Hey, I was wondering what the fabric feels like. I've ordered Monaluna and it felt a little thicker or stiffer than regular quilting cotton. Also, do you think a fat quarter is enough of the bird tending the bird in the nest (on blue) to get a good fussy cut? It is hard to tell how big the scale is. Thanks!
