{low(er) volume . . . again}
{farmer's wife block 1 - foundation pieced - I purposely did not center the novelty print but now I think it looks like a mistake?}
{farmer's wife block 2 - rotary cut}
Anyone else working on the Farmer's Wife blocks?
Linking to WIP Wednesday.
Dont think of it as a mistake, think of it as a design element.
ReplyDeleteCute blocks! How many have you made? I have made about 20 so far. Back when I started it my piecing skills weren't up to snuff. I should get back into it.
ReplyDeleteWill you be at the meeting this Sunday? I plan to be there!!!
I love the scrappy approach you're taking to those FW blocks. I definitely want to do the same!
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to see you and Heidi plow through the FW blocks. :)
ReplyDeleteI can see how it might look like a mistake... but in the grand scheme of this giant quilt, I bet it won't bug you as much.
wow, these are the sweetest Farmer's wife blocks ever :)
ReplyDeleteI agree, I think when you look at an individual block it might be a glaringly obvious mistake/flaw, but when you put your blocks together, you'll see the cute little girl popping out of the corner - just like you designed.
ReplyDeleteE xx
Yes ma'am. I've been stuck at block 28 for a year. Now where are those blocks.....
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting to make this quilt for over a year. I am still looking for the perfect fabric.
ReplyDeleteLove the LV look, and yes it might look like a mistake on it's own, but like the other ladies said, once they're all in there together it wont get noticed i'm sure. :o)
ReplyDeleteSuch cute fabrics! That little girl is very cute and I am sure when it's in the whole quilt you won't even worry about it any more. It's going to be great!
ReplyDeleteBoth of your blocks are adorable and I love that you did the one novelty print off center. Something different. I like it. Excellent work!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the low volume! I like the off-centered one, but I'm not familiar with the "regular" style block.
ReplyDeleteThese blocks look great! I abandoned the farmer's wife long ago! Maybe I'll go back one day. I think I was very put off by the fabrics in the book :)
ReplyDeleteBoth blocks are lovely. I like the off center of the novelty print. Are you doing a Farmer's Wife Quilt? I really want to make one :)
ReplyDeleteSo sweet. I really like them both. Yes, I finished all 111 blocks, the top is together. All I need to do is finish the back and send it off to the quilter.
ReplyDeleteOh love the LV fabrics and I think the FW block looks cool.
ReplyDeleteThis one keeps getting pushed back. I was excited to see another push of FW but seemed to be missing the boat for the second time. Love your fabrics
ReplyDeleteI am way late! I just started my Farmer's Wife Quilt. I have made 2 blocks so far. Are you doing a quilt along? I would love to have a partner to work along side for this quilt .
ReplyDeleteStefanie
I like the off centre choice. Your farmer's wife block reminds me of all the blocks!!!!!

I'm not working on them but I really like seeing everyone elses FW blocks :)
ReplyDeleteLove the Farmer's Wife quilt blocks! I got through four Farmer's Wife blocks last year, but then I promptly forgot about it. My taste in fabric has changed since then, so I'll probably start from the beginning if I ever attempt again!
ReplyDeleteI didn't notice that the center was off until you mentioned it. You could quilt a yellow sun next to her, and it wouldn't look off center then.
ReplyDeleteyour FW blocks are cute!
