another scrappy quilt backing



This is another quilt I made earlier this summer that I never shared here.  It is actually the back of this quilt - the one where I didn't like the spiral quilting I used so I unpicked some of it but not all. Well, after seeing these photos again, I will say I don't like the quilting from the back either - oh, well.  I still like the quilt.


This quilt back is made up entirely of small squares and rectangles from my scrap drawer.  I thought that I had enough 5" squares but while piecing them together (no design wall here), I realized that some were smaller so I just threw those in the mix too and decided not to worry about matching seams or anything but rather just go for a super scrappy improv style.

    I love a nice scrappy backing. I never did a scrappy backing until last summer in all 12 years of my quilting. I should really do it more often. Still thinking about the challenge for this month...hoping I can come up with something good!

    You know I love a scrappy backing! I think all of the colors in your scraps work so well together, it really is pretty enough to be the front!

    An inspiring use of scraps! Hmm, I have a top hanging around and no ideas for a backing...but LOTS of scraps. Maybe I should get busy.

    Scrappy backings are always so fun. And such a great way to use up the extras. I really need to do some more scrappy projects when I have time...whenever that will be... :)
