Another Giveaway and More Blog Hops

Wow - I have really been posting A LOT this week - next week I'll be back to my usual twice a week posting schedule!

1.  Pattern Giveaway from Kristy from St. Louis Folk Victorian and Kristy Daum on Etsy.

If you have been reading my blog for a while, you might remember that I have had a bit of sewing machine troubles over the past few months.  In early September, I was supposed to test this cool pattern but unfortunately, that was when I was completely without a sewing machine and so I was unable to help out.  Fortunately, Kristy had several other bloggers testing it for her and the completed pattern is now for sale in her etsy shop - both in paper and PDF formats.  Kristy is sponsoring giveaways of the PDF pattern all this week on the tester's blogs.  To enter to win a PDF copy, just leave a comment on this post - any comment will do - just make sure you indicate in your comment that you would like to be entered into the giveaway and if you'd like, you can write about what you look for in quilt patterns.  The giveaway will remain open until Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 8pm EDT and one winner will be chosen at random.  And please, unless you are sure that you are NOT a no-reply blogger, leave an email address in your comment.  And for more chances to win, visit these bloggers:  Annie, Andi, ShellyNancyJess, and tomorrow: Sara, and Jacey.

The giveaway is now closed and the winner is #10:  GGNovember 1, 2012 12:25 PM
Please enter me in the pattern give away. My basic desire in a pattern is to be able to understand the directions, clearly demonstrated via pictures or illustrations.

Sew Seasonal Blog Hop

2.  The Sew Seasonal Blog Hop starts today, November 1st.  Kristy and Alyce have designed several awesome patterns that will be featured throughout the hop.  I'm making Kristy's paper pieced candy cane and my date for the hop is November 9th.  For all the details including the complete schedule and information about sponsors, prizes and the link up as well as the patterns themselves, click here or here.

3.  Another fun hop that I am participating in soon is the Happy Little Pouch Hop.  This hop will feature two weeks of pouch inspiration, tutorials, and pattern reviews! There will also be a link up and prizes for this hop.  My turn is December 6th.  For more information including the complete schedule and information about sponsors, prizes, and the link up, click here.

  2. I'd like to be entered in the giveaway. In a quilt pattern, I look for something that has just enough challenge, but not something that would drive me nuts as far as needing too much precise piecing!

  6. What a great quilt! It looks so very different as each of you interpret your vision of it through your choices of colors and layout of the colors! I love it and would love to win a copy of the pattern!!! Thank you!!!

  7. I'd like to be entered in the giveaway. I know this may sound crazy but I would prefer to buy (or win) a pattern (that's not a simple "oh do it this way" idea) because recently I have tried two bloggers' patterns and the math was wrong on both of them. One I was able to fix and one I just had to make the project smaller on the second one. Both bloggers were very nice when I pointed out the math error (resulting is more fabric than stated) but I just assume that when I pay for a pattern it's been tested and the kinks are generally worked out. I'm sure I'll run up against one in the future where there's a problem.

  8. I would love to be entered in the giveaway. In a pattern, I like the ability to customize the design to my desired size. Also,I like it to be a little out of the ordinary; doesn't have to be too challenging but like it to have some punch either with the design or the fabric used. Thank you for the opportunity!

  9. I would love to win the pattern. I haven't been able to sew as much as I would like lately, and need a little jump start back into the swing of things. A fun pattern should do the trick!

  12. Thanks for the chance to win this charming pattern. What I appreciate in a pattern--especially when there are specific cuts of fabric called for, such as jelly rolls or fat quarters--are cutting diagrams, showing how to get the right amount of cuts from each piece of fabric. That way, I won't get to the end of my fabric and find I'm short and should have been orienting my cuts a different way. Camille Roskelley is great about that, and that's one reason I give her patterns extra weight when I'm deciding what to buy.

  21. I would love to be entered for this giveaway. I love this pattern. When I look at patterns, I usually look for good directions. That is really important to me as I am mostly a visual learner, so sometimes patterns can be challenging. Thanks for offering a copy of INDEX!

  36. Please enter me in the contest. What I look for in a quilt pattern is one that I can't easily do in EQ, or something that is different from others that I've seen. It also helps when there are fabric requirements for different sizes. Thank you!
